Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9195/ I9190/ I9192 Open Cover, Hard Reset, Insert & Remove SIM (dual), Memory Card, Battery

There are three versions of Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini that we gonna give you their basic tutorial, though, the real deal, actually only two version. The Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9195 and GT-I9190 have the same basic tutorial. It because the difference between these two only a matter of 4G LTE supports (which belong to I9195). But for Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9192, this version has one difference: It supports dual SIM cards (GSM). Which means this I9192 has different tutorial on inserting its dual (two) SIM card; in comparison to the single SIM of I9190 and I9195.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini comes with 4.3 inches Super AMOLED display with qHD 540 x 960 pixels resolution. It polished with Corning Gorilla Glass. Runs on Android Jelly Bean version 4.2.2, the Galaxy S4 Mini has 1.5GB RAM with 8GB internal memory (5GB user memory available). It's powered by dual-core 1.7GHz Krait with Adreno 305 GPU and Qualcomm MSM8930 Snapdragon 400 Chipset. It has dual camera: 8MP and 1.9MP.

You should start opening the back cover of Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini from the left-top of the sides of the device (rear panel facing upwards). There is a small gap in there. The picture below would help you to find the locations that we mean for.

Use your fingernail (choose the strong one, thumb or forefinger are the best) on this gap. Insert fingernail into this gap, and the lift the cover up until it partly removed. Don't worry if the cover clicks, that's normal. Whenever the cover partly open, continue to detach the sides cover tha still attached to the body with your fingernail until all the cover successfully removed.

Attach/Close Cover: Just align the camera hole on the cover with the rear 8 Megapixel camera and LED flash, then align the sides of the cover with the edges of the body of Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, and press the sides down until it clicks and attaches properly.

Inserting and Removing micro SIM card on Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9190/ GT-I9195


The SIM/USIM card slot location on Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9190 and GT-I9195 locates on the "floor" of battery compartment. It's on the left-top of the bottom of battery compartment. Which means, you must remove the battery before you able to insert the SIM and able to see the location of the SIM slot.

If you've found the SIM slot, now you have to make sure that the SIM type that you gonna insert to the SIM slot on Galaxy S4 mini is the micro SIM Card Type. Yes, the Galaxy S4 Mini uses the microSIM type, though it might vary depend on the region and Mobile Carrier/Provider.

With gold-contacts of the microSIM facing downwards, slide the microSIM to the slot with cut-edge on the outside, then push it until it finally inserted on the slot.

If you need to remove the microSIM, you just need to open the cover, remove the battery, and just pull out the microSIM from the slot. You can draw and slide out the SIM or if you need help, you can use your fingernail to push the card from the back of the SIM to make sure you had enough space to draw the microSIM card out with your hand.

Inserting and Removing dual microSIM cards on Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9192


Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9192 is deliberately designed to have two SIM card slot (known as dual SIM cards). The location of the SIM slot (uses microSIM type), one (let's say SIM 1) has the same spot with the GT-I9190/GT-I9195 and with additional (the second; let's say SIM 2) slot on the top-side of the battery compartment (wall) below the 8MP rear camera. You can see the exact location from the figure that we embedded below.

The Removing and Inserting SIM 1 to its slot just exactly the same steps and way on inserting and removing microSIM of Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9190 and GT-I9195. Just go to the SIM 1 tap to find out how to do that.

To insert the SIM 2 (microSIM 2) all you need to do just make sure the gold-colored contacts of the SIM 2 facing downwards then the cut edge on the inside (face to face with the mouth of the slo) and then push the card into the slot until it reach the end of the slot.

To remove the SIM 2, you just need to pull it out from the slot by using the tip of your forefinger. Place your fingertip on the part that can be seen of the SIM 2 then make a little press to get the grib of the SIM, and the draw and slide it out. Finally, you can pull the SIM 2 out from the slot.

Inserting and Removing battery on Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini GTI9190/ GT-I9192/ GT-I9195


When you get this Galaxy S4 Mini ini your hand for the first time, especially, when it's brand new smartphone, the battery is separated with the device. You need to assemble the battery manually. It uses standera Lithium-ion battery with 1900mAh capacity. It claimed to be able to be used up to 9 hours for 3G, 8 hours for LTE, 11 hours on Wi-Fi. and up to 300 hours on standby mode.

Assembling/inserting the battery can be done fast. Just align the metal-contacts connector on the battery with the one on the battery compartment, then slide it and press the battery down to the compartement.

To remove it, you can use the small cave on the bottom of the battery compartment as starting step. Insert your fingertip on this cave, lift the battery up, then pull the battery out completely. Remember to turn the Galaxy S4 mini off before you remove the battery. It's for safety usage.

Inserting and Removing microSD Memory Card on Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9190/ GT-I9192/ GT-I9195


The memory card slot on Galaxy S4 mini places on the right side of SIM card slot (SIM 1 for GT-I9192). It's on the bottom / floor on the batteyr compartment. You need to open the cover of the SGS4 mini, remove the battery, before you wanna inserting the microSD memory card. It supports up to 64GB (maximum).

With gold-metal contacts of the memory card facing downwards, align the card with the slot and then just push the card into the slot until it reaches the end of the slot. That's how you can insert the microSD memory card on Samsung Galaxy S4 mini.

To remove the microSD Memory card from SGS4 mini, you need to unmout it first. Go to Settings > More > Storage > Unmount SD card. Then turn the device off, open cover, remove battery and you're ready to remove the memory card.

First take a look on the end of the slot (no 1). You need to insert your fingernail into this hole, then push the memory card out from the slot until the card partly removed. Continue by pulling it out from the slot with your hand (no 2) until the microSD card fully removed.

Factory Reset/ Hard Reset on Samsung Galaxy S4 mini GT-I9190/ GT-I9192/ GT-I9195


Hard Reset always simple if you can access the settings of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. Just go to Settings ~> Accounts ~> Backup and reset ~> Reset device ~> Erase everything.

You can also do soft reset / aka force restart / reboot by pressing the Power button of Galaxy S4 mini for about 7 seconds.

When you can't access the device due to you forget the password/ screen lock or PIN, you can get the access to the phone by entering google account and its password. When you also forget the google account of yours, you can go to Samsung Service Center and ask to reset manually to them.
